6. Tour of the ‚Kursaal’ Construction Site; 14 September 2009 Engelberg’s Belle Epoque ‚Kursaal’ (1902) is being rebuilt. Come visit the construction site with architect Richard Kuster and restoration expert Wendel Odermatt.

7. Descent of the Cows from the Alp; 26 September 2009 It’s that time of year again when the cows come down from the Alpine meadows and return to their cozy winter homes in the valley. Around 12 noon the first animals, decorated with crowns of flowers and little flags, will arrive at the town’s Viktoriagärtli Square. Bide your waiting time with a stroll through the market—which features local products—or enjoy a cup of coffee in the refreshment tent. |  |

9. Special Theme Weeks for Kids in October In October there are two theme weeks especially for kids. The first one (5-9 October 2009) is „Music Star Engelberg“—Engelberg’s version of ‚American Idol’, in which our little guests will be able to show off their theatrical and musical talents. The other theme week, Fairy Tale Week (12 – 16 October 2009) gives the kids an opportunity to make up their own tales, study the classical ones, and present their versions on stage.
