Klettersteig Fuerenwand 1'840 m
Fürenwand
Special features: Till now the very steep, high Fürenwand could only be reached by a technically very difficult climb. The steep, exposed via ferrata now offers an entirely new experience in the vertical.
A route that could become a classic: certainly neither for beginners nor acrophobics.
Dangers: Storm. The exposedness should not be under-estimated.
Departure Point: Car park valley station of the Fürenalp cableway
Herrenrütiboden (1,085 m).
Walk-in:

From the valley station of the Fürenalp cableway follow the road in the direction of Herrenrüti. At approx. 1,140 m a signpost takes you left (Klettersteig-Fürenwand) on to the blue-white-blue marked way. The way-markings take you in a zig-zag route to the starting point of the climb at the foot of the mighty Fürenhochflue (1,240 m sign).

Along the cable protection, keeping to the right under a steep dihedral. More steep climbs over smooth ridges provide the buzz, as the view downwards becomes more and more majestic and the walkers on the Herrenrüti smaller and smaller. After the 250m high first rock face, you arrive at a grassy hunters' ledge. Following the cables, you get a majestic view into the upper part of the rock wall. At the end of the hunters' ledge further iron stirrups lead you back to the rock face. The exit from the Fürenwand is going to need some more courage!
Way-markings take you via Wiesen Hundschuft (1,840 m) to the Fürenalp mountain restaurant.

Descent: By Füren cable railway. Various marked hiking paths take you via Äbnet (cableway), Stäuber-Stäfeli-Alpenrösli or via Dagenstal back to the valley station of the Fürenalp railway.
