Via Ferrata Eldorado
Engelberg is well on the way to becoming the Swiss eldorado for via ferrata enthusiasts. Five exciting fixed rope routes are ready and waiting for climbing fans. Our fixed rope routes have attracted not only the specialist but the novice too - and the bug is spreading fast. Fun and thrills guaranteed!

Klettersteig Brunnistöckli

Via Ferrata Brunnistöckli (2030 m) a not too difficult climb for the family.
Nobody is too young to start climbing! A short, easy walk-in, then a comfortable climb in crags, two hanging bridges.
Klettersteig Zittergrat Via Ferrata Zittergrat “The Quaking Ridge“ (2030 m) difficult Fixed-Rope Route
This new short route known as “Zittergrat” is an addition to the present Brunnistöckli.
Klettersteig Rigidalstock

Via Ferrata Rigidalstock (2593 m) - Get the mountaineering feeling and reach the cross on the peak.
A perfectly equipped climbing route with magnificent photographic subjects.

Klettersteig Graustock

Via Ferrata Graustock (2661 m) - turned inwards and exposed
Variety and action in the vertical: rocky swing-ups, stone slabs, pillars and, just before the summit, a narrow ridge.
Fürenwand Via Ferrata Fürenwand (1840 m) - vertical & radical!
A spectacular climb - has the making of a classic. Undercutting, up-swinging, a vertiginous glance 600 metres down.
 

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING WHEN USING THE FIXED ROPE CLIMBS
  • A fixed rope climb (also known as via ferrata) is an Alpine hiking path indicated by blue and white markings.
  • Fixed rope climbs should only be attempted by hikers who do not suffer from vertigo, are sure-footed and fit for mountains.
  • Alpine equipment is essential. This includes helmet, good shoes/boots, safety straps and karabiner. The complete equipment can be hired from the various local sport shops.
  • The use of these routes is entirely at your own risk.
  • To avoid causing a rock fall, please walk carefully.
  • Children should be at least 8 years old.
  • Please pay good attention to weather conditions. The routes should not be used in rain, snow, fog, thunder storms and strong winds.
  • No responsibility whatsoever can be accepted by the constructors of the paths or the promoters
