Wildlife watching

At 6 a.m. gamekeeper Werner Bissig greets the group at the Brunni cableway valley station. The group then takes the cableway from Engelberg to Ristis. After checking their walking shoes, the group sets off under the expert guidance of the gamekeeper – first on the trails and then on open ground.

Where possible, Werner shows the group wild animals such as chamois, Alpine ibexes and marmots and explains their habits. This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature and the breathtaking views in the wildlife protection area.

At around 10 a.m. the guided hike ends at SAC Rugghubelhütte, where a fantastic Alpine breakfast awaits the group. Visitors make their own way back to Engelberg. They can hike directly to Ristis (around a two-hour hike) or take a short detour to Härzlisee (also around two hours), where they can give their feet a treat by walking barefoot on the tickly Kitzel Trail or enjoy some delicious food in the Brunnihütte before walking or taking the cableway back down to the valley.
