As the largest ski resort in Central Switzerland, Engelberg has plenty of slopes for both experienced and inexperienced skiers and snowboarders, as well as a wide range of off-piste attractions.

The Gerschnialp offers the perfect conditions for beginners to master their skiing or snowboarding technique and have plenty of fun in the process. The beginners’ area is 1,300 metres above sea level, so there will still be enough snow at Easter for attempting initial descents and working on technique.

The Gerschnialp is a small piece of paradise at the foot of the Titlis; a traditional funicular railway takes visitors from Engelberg up to the tranquil spot 1,300 metres above sea level every 20 minutes. The Gerschnialp boasts enchanting mountain panoramas and excellent skiing conditions for families and beginners, with three ski lifts and gentle slopes. If you buy a return ticket for the Engelberg-Gerschnialp funicular railway, you also get to benefit from discounted day passes (CHF 20 for adults; CHF 14 for children). The Gerschnialp also features twelve kilometres of expertly groomed cross-country ski trails across a variety of terrains and through woodland areas.2000 meters of altitude difference of slopes and trails, great snow conditions well into spring, breathtaking Alpine surroundings: three aspects that make the Engelberg-Titlis Ski Area the special place it is.

Fine dining and a warm welcome

Everyone knows that skiing makes you hungry, which is why a good restaurant is an absolute must in any ski resort. And if you’re skiing on the Gerschnialp, you’re in luck! Café Ritz at Gasthaus Gerschnialp, which has been run by the Häcki family for three generations, offers hearty traditional Swiss specialities. Diners are guaranteed to leave the restaurant satisfied and ready for their next adventure! We recommend leaving some space for dessert – the meringues with cream are a particular highlight on the restaurant’s extensive dessert menu.
