Skitours & Freeride
The alpine classic
One of the most attractive "skitours" in Engelberg. The "Titlis round-trip" is an alpine ski tour. It provides long downhill runs, short climbs, rappelling into steep couloirs and a great glacier hike. The tour requires very good mountaineering skills. Safe avalanche conditions, solid ascension technique and the equipment and ability to abseil are required. It is highly recommended to hire a mountain guide.
Safety tips for off-piste skiing
Please note that you are skiing at your own risk!
It is essential to carefully plan your off-piste day. Base your planning on maps, and make sure you constantly monitor the avalanche warning service and weather report.
Avalanche safety equipment and appropriate clothing are essential safety factors.
Anyone skiing off piste must have functional avalanche equipment (minimally avalanche transceiver/search equipment, probe, avalanche shovel, First Aid kit)
The skiing and mountain guides are familiar with the area and terrain and ensure that you safely your summit -and return home safely.
