Snow & Safety Days

Safe snow fun in powder snow! On the Snow & Safety Days mountain guides introduce freeriders to the secrets of off-piste skiing and show the most important rules in various ways.

LVS training with shovel and probe, powdering and ski tours accompanied by mountain guides are only a few pearls of the varied 2-day program. The best at the end: For overnight guests the course costs only CHF 119.00 with guest card and CHF 380.00 without guest card.

PROGRAM

SAFETY ABC MONDAY / FREERIDE

Spend the whole day with a mountain guide from Engelberg. You will spend the first half of the day training at the Avalanche Training Center, learning how to carry out a search with an avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel. In the afternoon, it’s time to hit the powder, with further onsite training.

Time and date: 9.00 a.m to 4.00 p.m

Meeting point: 9.00 a.m, Engelberg mountain guide office, Dorfstrasse 31, 6390 Engelberg.

Requirements: Safe skiing on black slopes. Normal basic condition.

Material: Ski pass, complete ski touring or freeride equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe, possibly airbag backpack).

 

The equipment can be rented in the mountain guide office or in the Engelberg sports stores.

SKITOURING TUESDAY

Leisurely ski tour in Engelberg. The experienced mountain guide will introduce you to the ski touring secrets (handling of skis, skins, and binding). The route depends on the current situation and is determined at short notice.

Time and date: 8.30 a.m to 4.00 p.m 

Meeting point: 8.30 a.m, by arrangement on Monday

Requirements: Safe skiing on black slopes. Normal basic condition.
