The "Family Destination" Seal of Approval
The Schweizer Tourismus-Verband (Swiss Tourism Association) describes the ‚Families Destination’ Quality Label as follows:
SEAL OF APPROVAL "FAMILIES WELCOME"
Swiss holiday destinations that are especially attractive for family holidays and whose offers target the needs and wishes of children, their parents and/or accompanying adults can apply and qualify for the Families Destination label of quality. In order to receive this seal of approval, they must meet the strict conditions and criteria determined and upheld by an independent quality commission endorsed by the Schweizer Tourismus Verband (STV/Swiss Tourism Association)
Minimum standards are considered in the following areas:
Infrastructure
- Accommodations, restaurants, playgrounds and picnic grounds
Summer and Winter Expeiences
- Theme paths, water, animals, adventure/sports, culture/entertainment, transportation, animation/organized activities.
Services
- Security, special offers, guest information, childcare
- Participating key tourism providers (=Credo-Betriebe) continually deal with quality issues and pay particular attention to the quality of services provided in the area of family friendly offerings.
- Family holiday destinations are assessed by a Mystery Person sent by the Quality Commission. The Families Welcome label awarded by the STV is valid for a period of three years.
