This route takes you through a true natural paradise. Surrounded by blooming alpine meadows, the route impresses with the majestic Stäuber waterfall and an unforgettable panoramic view of the imposing Spannörter. A true jewel of the Alps that you should not miss!
From the valley station of the Fürenalpbahn, the path gently follows the Engelberger Aa past rushing mountain streams. Again and again, fantastic views of the surrounding peaks open up.
A notable stop is the Stäuber waterfall, which lets the water plunge down with impressive force. It continues over alpine meadows that offer a diverse flower spectacle especially in the alpine summer. During the alpine summer, various alpine huts or farm shops invite you to take a break.
At the end or the start of the circular route (depending on direction) another highlight awaits – the ride with the Fürenalpbahn. Floating over the rock walls, you return to the valley while enjoying a spectacular view of the surrounding mountain world.

Tips and suggestions
The mountain huts such as Hobiel, Äbnet, Stäfeli and Alpenrösli as well as the Äbnet funicular are only open during the alpine summer. The Surenen cheese dairy and Stäfeli also offer their products only in summer.

Public transport
National and international connections (from Zurich Airport connections every half hour with about 1h travel time) to Lucerne. Then take the Zentralbahn in 43 minutes through varied landscapes and gorges up to Engelberg.
Directions
If you drive by car, take the A2 (Basel-Gotthard) to Stans Süd, then 20 km on the main road to Engelberg. Engelberg is 30 minutes from Lucerne, 1 hour and 15 minutes from Basel, Zurich or Bern.
