People who live in mountain districts know a lot about Alpine herbs, and this knowledge has been passed down through generations. The idea of the Brunni medicinal herb trails is to ensure that this wealth of information on folk medicine is not lost, but is put in a scientific context.
Indications as to the effectiveness of the herbs come mainly from literature on folk medicine, or reflect local experiences on the subject. On different paths around the Härzli lake by the top station of the Brunni chairlift, these medicinal herbs can be viewed in their natural habitat. In addition, an information sheet explains the labelled plants along the path.
