Musegg Wall

It is the medieval landmark of Lucerne and was built in the 13th century as a city fortification. Originally, an inner and an outer ring protected the city from enemy attacks.

The Musegg Wall is still 870m long, approx. 9m high and 1.5m wide. This makes it the longest city wall preserved in one piece in Switzerland.
