Alpine cheese trail e-bike stage Blackenalp

Engelberg-Titlis Tourismus Verified partner
The Engelberg train station is the starting point of the Engelberg e-bike route. It starts flat through the village past the monastery, heading towards the slightly ascending road to the base station of the Fürenalp cable car. The valley narrows and the surface changes to gravel after about 1.5 km. Steadily ascending, it passes Herrenrüti to the Restaurant Alpenrösli. A stop here is recommended; the mountain inn is known for its rösti and good desserts. Before the last short but steep climb to Stäfeli, the e-bike motor is challenged for the first time. With the impressive Spannörter mountains in sight, the stretch with coarse gravel and steep gradient can be managed well. At Alp Stäfeli, the gravel road turns right and crosses the Stierenbach. From there, it continues on the right side of the valley along the new forest road with ups and downs, passing below the flanks of the Spannörter towards the Stäuber waterfall.
Fresh alpine cheese is produced almost daily on Blackenalp. It is worth stopping at the mountain inn there. The return to Engelberg follows the same route back to the Fürenalp base station. After the gravel parking lot, the route turns into the forest and follows a natural path past the golf course along the Engelberger Aa back to the monastery village.
Please note that depending on weather conditions (snow cover), not all alpine cheeseries are staffed in June, and from mid-October, the alp regions are no longer staffed.
