From Engelberg station, the starting point of the bike route to Walenalp, you ride through Dorfstrasse, past the Tourist Center always towards the monastery. After Viktoriagärtli, the park on the left, turn left onto Schwandstrasse. From here, the paved road pleasantly climbs between the houses of Engelberg. Once you reach Hotel Waldegg, a first look over the village and towards Titlis is worthwhile. Continue on the same road through the forest until you see the mountain inn Schwand. Here a short stop before the further ascent is recommended. Refreshed, you now take the next section under your wheels. At a fork shortly after the restaurant, continue straight ahead. Continue on the road until Wandalp; from there a gravel path leads to the destination - the Walenalp. The Swiss family campfire site right next to the alp invites you to rest and linger. Enjoy a sausage you brought on the grill. The magnificent view into the Engelberg valley makes you forget the altitude meters gained. Return to the valley and the starting point of the route on the same path.
