The path starts at Engelberg railway station and leads to the end of the village road to the monastery chapel. Continue up the stairs to the street. From there the grotto path branches off to the right to Klostermatte, a large meadow, where in winter the little guests learn the basics of skiing in Globi's Kinderland. The ski cracks of tomorrow dare to take their first turns in the snow in a playful way. The high trail continues along the signposted route past the seven springs. At this point the water bubbles crystal clear and pure from the ground. The next highlight is the Lourdes Grotto when you reach the edge of the forest. Our Lady is clearly visible on a rocky promontory. After lighting a candle or taking a short break, you walk across the bridge and left along the Bärenbach towards Horbis, the so-called end of the world.

No, the end of the world is neither cold nor dark or dangerous, but a cosy restaurant in Horbis, the rearmost part of Engelberg. Here you can put your tired feet up and quench your thirst with a glass of cold must. Also the growling stomach can be remedied, because on the menu you can find traditional Engelberg dishes such as Älplermagronen or cheese slices. Strengthened and rested, you return to Engelberg. The free summer bus can also be used from the Brunni valley station.

Tip: In autumn, the Horbis Restaurant is known for its game specialities far beyond the valley.
