The pyramid of Brisen, which dominates the entire area, can be seen from afar and is one of the most popular route destinations in Central Switzerland. The panoramic view and magnificent descents are unique. The route can be shortened with the Haldigrat chairlift. The ski tour from Brändlen to Haldigrat is a real insider tip. While most ski tourers and freeriders take the Maria-Niederrickenbach cable car up, one enjoys absolute tranquility from the small Brändlen cable car and a fantastic view towards Bannalp. Upon reaching Haldigrat, the route continues over the distinctive northwest ridge to the summit. You are rewarded with a fantastic view down to the Mittelland. The descent leads either to Gitschenen in Isenthal, to the northwest flank of Brisen to the Haldigrat valley station, or via Steinalper-Jochli to the SAC Brisenhaus / Niederrickenbach.
Author’s recommendation
A stopover at the mountain guesthouse Haldigrat is worthwhile, as there are also accommodation options.
