At the mountain’s peak, high above the valley, all superfluous thoughts vanish beyond the horizon. All that matters is the here and now: the endless sky, the beautiful natural landscape, the sense of freedom. The world is at your feet. The slope is freshly groomed, the snow glitters enticingly, your anticipation for the descent grows. At last, you set off: the edges of your skis slice into the snow. Your body becomes one with your skis. You’re in perfect flow as you hit top speed – and there it is: that consummate moment when an indescribable feeling of happiness suffuses every cell in your body.

About Engelberg
Engelberg-Titlis is the largest winter and summer holiday destination in Central Switzerland. The varied monastery village offers a unique holiday experience for families, beginners and professionals. The varied activities make your stay an unforgettable mountain experience.
Engelberg is located 25 kilometres south of Lake Lucerne in a wide high valley at around 1,000 metres above sea level. The surrounding mountains are dominated by the 3,239-metre-high Titlis glacier and local mountain and the 2,600-metre-high Hahnen. In winter, they guarantee snow until well into spring. Engelberg is also known for its varied skiing and freeriding area. In summer, on the other hand, everything revolves around hiking, mountaineering, climbing, biking and golfing.
Engelberg itself captivates with its individual and traditional character. The Benedictine monastery, founded in 1120, still has a decisive influence on the village world today. The monks still live, work and teach there. The remaining houses from the Belle Epoque are also witnesses to this time. Combined with the cosy Swiss flair, the special architecture gives the monastery village its very own charm.
Families benefit in Engelberg from the national "Families Welcome" seal of quality, which guarantees a specially coordinated offer for children. The summer toboggan run or the adventure playground are just examples of the wealth of experiences for children.
sustainability
In Engelberg-Titlis, people know and appreciate the impressive nature. That is why the locals and businesses attach great importance to a sustainable approach to the environment. Engelberg has been awarded the "Energy Town" label and will implement further projects in the coming years. Already today, all cable cars are operated with Co2-free electricity. The Brunni cable cars are also the first and only Co2-neutral mountain railway company in Switzerland.
Easy and quick to reach
If you're coming to Switzerland by car, Engelberg-Titlis is one of the closest ski resorts to the border. And if you fly into Zurich airport, the Powder Express, Titlis Taxi and other shuttle buses are already waiting to take you directly to Engelberg in just one hour. A more sustainable way to get there is by train, where you only have to change trains once in Lucerne. Two hours after arriving in Zurich, you are already on your skis and on the Titlis, 3020 metres above sea level.

Longest winter ski season in Switzerland
With an average of over 220 skiing days, Engelberg offers you the longest continuous winter skiing season in Switzerland. Due to the geographically favorable location and the microclimate in the valley, abundant snowfall is guaranteed every year. So you benefit from snow-sure winter sports fun from October to May!
Longest ski run with over 2000 metres altitude difference
One of the longest runs in this Alpine region is the stretch from the Titlis glacier down to Engelberg. The 12 km long piste has more than 2000 metres of altitude difference from top to bottom and is snow-sure. If Mother Nature does not provide enough snow, the pistes are filled up with snow cannons. The range of pistes on both sides of the valley, the Titlis and the sunny side of the Brunni, is very varied and comprises around 82 kilometres of pistes. The Engelberg-Titlis region is known worldwide for its numerous off-piste runs and is the place to be for all freeriders.
Die Big 5
Five unique freeride routes, all accessible directly from the cable cars or ski lifts. If you're looking for the ultimate freeride adventure, you could ski the Big 5 in a day, covering around 10,000 metres in good conditions. One of the most famous freeride slopes in the world is the "Laub" and not without reason. When you reach Engelberg, the Laub is impossible to miss. Due to its width, the Laub appears imposing and mighty. The steep descent with 32-38 degrees of inclination is a highlight for all freeride fans.
The Big 5 also includes the Steinberg (the route leads over glaciers), Steinitäli, Sulz and the mighty Galtiberg. The Galtiberg is one of the longest freeride slopes in the world. The route leads from "Klein Titlis" back to the Engelberg valley at an altitude of almost 2000 metres. The tour is very demanding and only recommended for experienced freeriders. Due to its length and unique terrain, the Galtiberg is also something very special for freeride professionals.
Besides the Big 5, there are many other ski tours that can be done with touring skis. The area around Engelberg offers many peaks, with breathtaking mountain panoramas and steep descents. The high alpine destination and the monastery village
Engelberg-Titlis is the largest winter sports area in central Switzerland. The small monastery village is located in a high mountain arena, surrounded by alpine mountains, and wherever you go, the view is always of a breathtaking mountain panorama. The village has an international flair and at the same time impresses with Swiss tradition and cosiness. The village is dominated by the Benedictine monastery, where monks are still active today. Both in the valley and on the mountains you will find winter sports activities for everyone: tobogganing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, carriage rides and walks in the snow. Delicious culinary highlights are always just a stone's throw away and traditional Swiss dishes can be found on every corner.
Families
Families are very welcome in Engelberg. As a family destination, the holiday destination offers the perfect infrastructure so that the whole family feels at home.
Boredom is a foreign word for children in the Brunni area. In addition to the toboggan run, the large children's playground on Ristis, the Globi treasure hunt and the barefoot trail ensure this. On the eventful Knorrli Trail around Lake Trübsee, the whole family learns and discovers everything there is to know about healthy eating in a playful way. From just one overnight stay, young and old benefit from the summer programme with numerous activities from Monday to Friday.
